Last night when I was watching a playoff basketball game there were some older (70-80) ladies dancing when suddenly they ripped off their dresses and had on 1/2 shirts and short shorts. They started gettin' their groove on. I was S-H-O-C-K-E-D.

The last time I was truly, jaw-dropping shocked was quite a few years ago. I got a call at work and was told that a close friend had just given birth to a baby. The shocking part? None of us knew she was pregnant except her. Talk about unbelievable! This was a person we would see on a very regular basis. We just had no idea because she hid it so well.

I found out that a friend of mine had a threesome with a friend couple. She's pretty playful, but I would NEVER have expected that configuration!

Several years ago my Mother called to tell me that she and Dad used to "swing" and that my middle name, the one I've used my whole life because my first was the same as Dad's, was that of her favorite partner, who might be my real father. All I have to do is look at photos of my Dad and Grandfather to know he's my real Dad, but for a long time I almost puked everytime I heard my name! I seriously considered changing it...

This wasn't her first time to "get me" in some way, only the worst (so far)!

It took me a few hours to think about this response.
Initially, nothing really came to mind, except yesterday's reminder on Oprah about the plight of the "invisible children” in Uganda... of atrocities - particularly against children -always get me.

However, (closer to home) what really, really “has me in a state of shock” is how a life – my life – can change sooooo much. How one sets out in a clear, distinct direction and ends up in a totally “unknown” place, on an “unknown road” to … ?

I don't get shocked by anything anyone. Disgust is a better word for my reaction to people's apathy towards this planet and the creatures (including human creatures) who inhabit it.

The sight of a live dog being skinned; this being the practise in China to sell fur to Europe and America.

(The video was shown on UK TV as a protest by the McCartneys).

Last night we had house dinner...all 3 of us were there and happy. No bitterness, no nasty issues or pet peeve problems, just good food and stupid conversation. We hung out for a chunk of time after and all helped do dishes and then hung out some more before the fiance came over and broke up the fun. We haven't really done that since right after we first moved in. -Jn

Really really shocking... Umm... (Excluding the state of Modern Pop Music ;o) )

I don't really do shocked; closest I can get to that is true fear... And if that counts, then it has to be the February 2000, Wellington New Zealand, Fly-By-Wire (http://www.flybywire.co.nz/)
And you thought Bungee was extreme...

Those Kiwis are mad, but as they say, "Fear Sucks" :o)

By the fact that gas prices are so high all of a sudden and that the big oil companies go ahead and announce record breaking earnings for the first quarter. They should have lowered the gas prices for a few weeks in advance just so we wouldn't know how badly they're gouging us.
