Two Hundred and Eleventh Question

Have you ever experienced a miracle?

I have experienced what would traditonally be considered a "miracle", but since I've lost my faith in faith, I don't think it was really a miracle anymore.

The miracle to me is having my partner with me, every day, and feeling like the luckiest girl in the world to have met my perfect match, after a long and painful road.

    No.

When I was 17 I got cerebral menigitis. It was rightly diagnosed by the visiting doctor, but the emergency call for the ambulance got screwed up and I was delivered to a hospital a somewhat casual several hours later. When mum asked the doctor what could be done for me at that stage he said "pray". Nice bed side manner, doc. The next three days of my memory are wiped. But I'm here. Lucky break.

Life is a gift, and I suppose you could call every day a miracle at that point. What I like best is meeting people who can find miracles in the little things. Husbands, wives, children, friends, flowers, sunrises. That sort of thing. I believe it is easy to examine an event in which we "lived to tell" as a miracle, but the ability to extract real joy merely by reaching into last year's winter coat pocket and finding an unexpected twenty is something indeed. A tiny miracle, but significant, all the same.

I was in a car wreck when I was 17...going about 55 on impact and not wearing a seat belt. I didn't have a scratch on me. I think that is pretty miraculous. :)

Hmm. I don't know about miracles, but my life has certainly had many great blessings and good fortune. I don't quite know how to differentiate the two, because so much of what happens to us is random and neither deserved nor undeserved.

    Cheers,

I'm not really sure. Sometimes I think the beauty in nature is a miracle, or the way that my dog came into my life, or other little things. Maybe every day is a miracle in some small way???

I was born severely autistic. I could not talk, interact with people or remember anything... Then suddenly, when I was 5, I became "aware" of my surroundings, started talking, and developed socially. I am still clinically listed as having Asperger's Syndrome, which is like high-functioning autism, but I'm a father, a philanthopist, a formerly ordained minister and a contributor to my local community. If that's not a miracle, what is?

When my son survived the month of January and his skin grew back.
Every day I look at that gorgeous healthy skin, I know I am seeing a miracle. Maybe from G-d, maybe from medical science... I don't care who gave it to me. I am just happy to have it.
