Will higher fuel costs adversely impact any vacation
plans you might have?

Not really. The vacation we have planned for the summer is white water rafting in Colorado, but there is 6 people to split the cost of gas so it won't be terrible. We are over $3 a gallon though, so it's definitely impacted us in other ways.

Some years we rent an RV for a couple of weeks. It is less likely we'll do that this year.

I rarely drive anywhere for a vacation (although we will be camping sometime this summer up past Winter Park (CO) from the Denver area, but that won't deter me. You only live once! It's only money!

Vacation? What's that? I don't know that word this year, but not because of the gas situation.

No. I'm spending July flying to Europe and driving around 4 countries, and then flying to California and driving around in August. Canadian prices have always been higher than US ones, and Europe has always been ridiculous, so you just adapt and carry on. The alternative is to stay home, and life is too short to put off big plans. I very am fortunate not to have to worry about fluctuations, and to recognise my good fortune.

Her Malibu is getting over 27 mpg around town, so we're actually looking forward to seeing what it does on the highway! If we were still using my old Chrysler as the main vehicle, I'd be riding my bike!

Somewhat. We were planning on taking a trailer full of stuff down to Burning Man in Nevada in August, but now we're thinking of paring down and leaving the trailer at home, since it cuts our gas mileage in half. Either that or get our friends to pitch in gas money to carry down some of their stuff.

Not really. Thankfully I bought my plane tickets before the prices went up. I don't do a lot of travelling over the summer anyway.

Well, I think I'll fly instead of drive on the big trip I'm making, but I'm not that crazy about driving anyway.

Vacation? Are you kidding? I can barely afford to get back and forth to work! The closest thing I've got planned to a vacation is a day trip to a (relatively) nearby amusement park, an annual tradition that my kids look forward to almost as much as Christmas.
It's insane. Being in the delivery business, I can tell you we are taking a major hit! The price of everything is going to go up dramatically-- just as Allan Greenspan forewarned. Too bad nobody in Washington listened to him.
