Yesterday at work in the
elementary. I prefer these to the electric version which sounds like an animal being killed when it's being used..

A year or so ago before an exam. We actually still have some of those in our classrooms at the college I work at.

Have a hand cranked one mounted in our utilitiy room; about once every six months I gather a handful of pencils from the different holders and put a tip on them...

We have one outside the labs and we use it for the colored pencils for our drawings. My friend and I emptied it one day and put the shavings in a clear box marked 'magic' and mailed it to a third party. It has been passed around our group of friends ever since then.

Mounted in our garage is a similar model only it's rusty with age. I use it about once a month. I'd rather use a pencil than a pen any day.

One exacly like the picture? High school, circa 1987. My classmates and I used to have "contests" to see who could create the shortest useable pencil. Imagine a little piece of lead with an eraser attached!
Yeah, it didn't take much to entertain us.
