Ive. had a mobile now for nearly 20 years... (Yep I remember when they were the same size as Car Batteries... No wait, they were car batteries!).. So really really can't remember the last time I used a pay phone...
I used one at an out of town conference about a year ago to call work to check messages. They gave me a calling card, so I figured they wanted me to use it.
I haven't used one since and before that it was a loooong time.
About a year ago when we went to San Francisco to visit some friends and couldn't find their house. I actually had to look up their phone number too because I had left it at home.
I still don't have a cell phone and still don't plan on it. But I must admit that pay phones are pretty grimey. (And remember when it used to cost a dime? Now you have to carry a roll of quarters around to use them.)
Just last week, actually. I was at Burning Man in the middle of the Nevada desert with no net access or cell phone reception. I had to call home to check on my cat that had gotten out of the house.

Hmmm. About 7 months ago, my cell phone battery was dead and I needed to call my husband about something from the mall.

Before that, it had been several years.

About a month ago - to call 911 -
I had drive all over to find one though as they're getting harder and harder to find - especially ones that work.
