There's only one dog to eat. Heil's Coney dogs from Liverpool (Syracuse area) NY. It's a spicy white dog cooked in beer and a special spice combo of paprika, pepper and other stuff, grilled, not fried, boiled or broiled.
All other dogs are sacriledge to the great weenie in the sky.

I will not eat a hotdog unless it is one of those cooked on an open fire with the taste of charcoal lingering kind. Then I usually throw it on a bun and dump on catchup. If it falls on the ground more the better.

I like them boiled (I know, kinda gross) with American cheese and mayo, just the way my mom eats them :)

OK so u mean the American bastardisation of the German Frankfurter... Ummm... Yummy... :o)

Got to be with Mustard... Dijon as a preference (Oh, beautiful City if you ever get the chance), pilled high with over done caramelised and slightly crispy onion, with maybe a chillie or two and a dollop of ketchup on top... (And plenty of napkins :o) )

Sitting outside, near some large body of water in lovely weather.
    Grilled, with horseradish, catsup,
finely diced onions, a hint of mustard and some good sauerkraut. On a toasted bun.
No more than once a year.
