pho·bi·a - n.

SPIDERS - I've always been afraid of them and always will be. Just finding a picture for today's question has given me the creeps!

Heights for sure, but I've spent all of my 20's trying to get over it by sky-diving and hang gliding. Nothing has worked, I think I'll just always have it.

I once saw Maury Povitch in the Burbank airport. I was overcome by the desire to have my DNA tested and be restrained by a bouncer.
    I wasn’t right for weeks!

I'm really afraid of heights. Beyond the mental aspect, my stomach literally flips over if I get too near a railing (or someone that I'm with does). I also have a problem with claustrophobia, especially in large crowds.

I'm also terrified of burning to death in a fire, but I don't really think that's an irrational fear!

being unable to move or being trapped...sounds weird...but I was on a rollercoaster all strapped down and was fine...when it was stopped (got stuck) for 10 minutes..I started freaking and cold-sweating...10 more I would have been trying to break out and screaming. umm, yeah.
    Dont like being "stuck"
ps...I wish I knew what this one was called..

Only a couple of things terrify me:
Something dastardly happening to my wife or kids, and my getting something like Alsheimer's or a disease similair which disallows me to be in control of my rationality.

My balls ache when I'm near high places, eg. a ledge. Would that be considered a phobia?

I know, I know, TMI. Well you asked!

lvpThis may sound silly, but I ahve a worm phobia. Snakes don't nbother me a bit, but anything wiggly ans squishy just makes me skin crawl. Maggots, earthworms, grubs, slugs, anything of that nature just freaks me out. LOL And I love gardening, so I freak out a lot..

I don't know if I've got an actual spider phobia, but I DO NOT LIKE SPIDERS.

The other thing is deep water. I even have trouble standing at a pool's edge and looking down at the bottom. And don't even get me started on the OCEAN. Or those man-made creepy ass DEEP LAKES. (shudder)
