Fran and I are having our best couple friends over, and I'll be doing the cooking; turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, sweet potatoes, and cranberry sauce. They're bringing dessert. We'll probably play board games and just talk after we eat.

We are having Thanksgiving at our house this year. It will be somewhat of a small affair this year.

It will be the 4 of us, my aunt (her kids are with their dad this Thanksgiving) and some family friends. Or should I say friends that are like family. My other uncle is spending Thanksgiving with his in-laws this year so it will just be the 8 of us.

Wait ... there aren't going to be any kids here. I guess that means that the wine tastings will be getting out of control. LOL

My families for Thanksgiving Day. It will be so much fun. People will get drunk and we will play games and yell at each other.

Friday we are heading to my in-laws. I would rather put tabascco sauce on open sores I made by burning myself with acid.

Going to my in-laws' for dinner. I actually get along better with them than with my own parents!

Having the family here. It is our favorite thing to do and our favorite food to cook. I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

I will be going to my mothers house for Thanksgiving. Which isn't my ideal place for a meal but it beats the hell out of cooking. I tried cooking for everyone a few years ago and couldn't stand the critisism so I (we) decided not to do that again.

i am hiding beneath the covers...i will stay there till jan. 2...

no seriously...i am cooking...for my own dear family of four...i am about to go out in the pouring rain to shop for everything in need to cook...then i will schlep it all home and put it all away...

i stopped having my family of origin here for holidays many years ago...for the same reason as arcane one...i am a very good cook, but my family of origin always needs to bitch about something...

i hope i find some holiday spirit soon...

    ciao...

It's just me and the kids this year--and though I do find myself batting away the occasional bummer feeling about it, I'm actually excited about making the holiday the way I want it to be for the kids. Just like my own parents did for me, I'm sure. We're going to the Macy's parade (barring really bad weather), then whipping up our standard meal: turkey, whipped spuds, mashed turnips, stuffing, cranberry sauce--OH, I love that dinner!--and then going to see Harry Potter.

    Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Hubby and I will travel over the causeway and down the beach to my mother's condo. There will be 8 of us for dinner. (Mostly bridge club ladies.) My daughter and her husband plan to stop by for pie.

I will bake a small turkey and make a bowl of sage dressing here at home for us to munch on over the weekend. Left overs are the best part!

We are having our thanksgiving on Wednesday. Jan has to work Thursday. Just four of us will be here.
We usually invite a friend or two,
but no one seems available wednesday.

It will be a nice quiet day.
We may also put up the Christmas
    tree.

We'll be at my in-laws, with a large portion of my own family there as well. And I'll be eating until I can't move from the table. Mmmmm, turkey.

Hmmm..as I am Welsh, I'm afraid its a day like any other. Tho I will be jealous of all the delicious meals that are being eaten on the other side of the Atlantic. I work with an American lady and last year she brought in some pumpkin pie, I had never tasted it before and it was delicious!! I'm hoping that she has the same plans for this year!
