I would give it to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. The work that they do is amazing and I really like the concept.

i think i would have to split it into two...

American Cancer Society and an AIDS organization...pick one...

i am a cancer survivor and it amazes me every day that we can put men on the moon but cant figure out a cure...

    peace...

I already donate to Planned Parenthood and the Sierra Club. I suppose I would donate to environmental causes, women's issues, ALS research, ASPCA's, and organizations that work with abused children.

Oh yeah, any democratic candidates and liberal causes I feel are worthy.

    I'd split it evenly between:
    1. Alzheimer's Association
    2. Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
    3. Lupus Foundation, to go specifically to Vasculitis research

i already donate to each of these organizations and it would thrill me to be able to donate a fat check to each of these:

    1. people for the ethical treatment of animals (peta)
    2. natural resource defense council (nrdc)
    3. planned parenthood
    (pp)

I would give half to PAWS, a no kill animal shelter, here in LA. I would also give half to the NY agency that investigates and prosecutes animal cruelty. I know that is not a charity but they do good work and need the money.

Mine would go to IMPS (www.minpinrescue.org) a rescue organization that I volunteer for as a foster mom. We rescue Miniature Pinschers and provice rescourse for families that need help to keep their dogs. I would also donate to the ALDF (animal legaue defense fund). I want harsher minimum punishments for animal abusers.

I'd like to give some to my son's preschool, which is failing right now. It's a cooperative and I think too many people think they don't have time to be in a cooperative. It's been great to be involved in his first educational experience. I'd love to help them out. (plus I wouldn't have to fundraise my butt off all year. who wants to buy some cookie dough?)

I'd give the million dollars to the Illinois Department of Education.

Hopefully they would start paying our teachers more and raise the standards of our educational system in Illinois. We need to start one state at a time. :)

I'll search for one of those medical charities that doctors sign up with right after med school and go to help round the world. That is the most honourable thing anyone can do, after all those years in med school most really just want to start making the dosh. Not that i don't see where they're coming from.
