I thought of this question while watching Prince at the Superbowl half-time show.
Back when "Purple Rain" first came out and Prince was still a nobody, he came to play a promo concert in the city where I lived. My uncle, from out of town, happened to be visiting and staying at the same hotel as Prince. We were eating dinner in the hotel restaurant and Prince came in to eat. After dinner, my Dad asked for his autograph for me. His bass player actually ended up signing the napkin instead and he KEPT my Dad's pen...lol. Kinda funny now that I think of it, they just causually strolled into to eat dinner, no bodyguards, no fanfare and I was probably the only person in the room who had any clue who the flashy, short guy was! How different his life must be now...
I have the children's book "The Remarkable Farkle McBride" signed by John Lithgow. My sister was working on the set for "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" and I begged her to get him to autograph the book for me. She embarrassed herself for me.
Other than that, no, I don't think anybody really famous.
I got Gordie Howe's autograph at an exhibition hockey game in Binghamton, NY back in 1985. Before Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux came along, Howe was the greatest hockey player ever. I've also gotten autographs from some members of various Christian rock groups.
I'm slightly embarassed to admit that I went to an autograph signing for Celine Dion when she debuted her first English language album, Unison. I was at the Toronto Eaton Centre with my friend and Celine happened to be making an appearance so I bought her tape(!) and got in line for her signature. I'm sure I still have that tape somewhere...
Conway Twitty when I was 8, my dad made me go over and ask since he didn't want too. I think he also thought I stood a better chance at getting it LOL :)
Warn Defever and Annie Lennox. I saw Lisa and Warn performing [separate dates] at this local record store, and Annie at the LA Gay Pride, but this was like 12 years ago! If not more! Oh I made her autographed on a little pathetic receipt! oy! I think I lost it the same day!
Owait, prolly no one knows the first 2 I mentioned.
katie couric and al roker (sp?) when i went to NYC at age 11. a few politicians, who i can't remember. i also have several disney character's signatures in a sticker book i used to carry with me everywhere i went.

I got books signed by Dean Koontz, Cheech (from Cheech & Chong) and the artists who do the Ziggy and Cathy comics.
I sat with the Ziggy guy for about an hour, listening to him drunkenly talk about painting in the dark. It was awesome!
