    Right now it is a balmy -6 degrees and with the wind chill it is -27!!

    The schools and lots of businesses are closed because of it. The larger cities have set up "warming stations" for people that are homeless or have no heat.

    I got my car started this morning after about 5 minutes of the 4th try! Then, the heater fan/blower thing stopped working. I got to drive to work today with no heat. I called the mechanic and they are swamped with dead battery, etc. calls and don't know when they will have time to take a look at mine ;( It is so cold in my office that I am wearing my gloves - which makes typing really fun.

    Brrrrrrrrr!

    at 4:01 in oakland it's 60* and semi-cloudy.

    In Scranton, PA it got up to 12 degrees with a wind chill of -10.
    Most schools delayed their start, both today and tomorrow. Tuesday looks to be about 3 degrees warmer.

    I don't know from personal experience since I was inside all day with a mild stomach bug, but I think it was about 50 and overcast here in Portland.

    Oh it got into the high 70s or low 80s today and it was WONDERFUL!

    Low 80's today. Welcome to Phoenix, AZ. And no, I don't miss the cold and snow of Idaho, the midwest, or New England... all of which I've lived in and experienced the extreme cold. I LOVE the weather right now! (Which I will remind myself of in a few months when it's a freakin' 115 outside)
