Until my truck that I drive now, all my past cars have needed major repairs. Lucky enough, I married this great guy who could do 90% of them so I hardly ever needed my car to go into the shop... I just repaid labor charges in the bedroom :)

My Honda is in the shop right now...poor baby. We were rear ended while sitting at a red light. Ouch.
Fortunately, hubby is a "car guy" and knows how to do most things needed to keep her on the road and in excellent condition.

I think it was this spring and it had a small exhaust leak. I also have a squealing alternator belt that they keep tightening, but it comes back. They said next time, it would have to be replaced.
I work at a college with an automotive department, so except for the fact that it takes them forever and a day, I get it cheap 'cause they don't charge labor!

Our minivan had major trannie issues that would have cost over a grand to fix, and with 112,000 miles on it, it was time to send it to the glue factory. Instead, we got minimal trade-in value on a new-used van.

My wife left the map light on overnight a couple of weeks ago, so I had to replace the battery. It cost about $90 for the battery...installation/labor was free since I did it.
