What is the best concert you've ever been to? Where and when was it?

    This is a hard one for me to answer because I've seen so many great concerts.

    If I have to pick one, I would say Jane's Addiction in 1990 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. It was the Ritual De Lo Habitual album tour. The venue was small (and packed, or course) and the music was awesome. Back in Perry Farrell's heyday... I was only like 15 or 16 years old and LOVED it!

    Tonight I'm off to see Kenny Chesney in Indianapolis. I'm not a huge country fan, but Kenny is great. Hopefully more memories will be made. I need to have some FUN :)

    music is front and center in my life, and i have been to 100's and 100's of shows of many many genres...followed the grateful dead for years and have been to over 100 dead shows...done the lollapalooza thang...but would you believe my finest musical moment was last winter, only 10 minutes from my house...it was yoyo ma, the cellist, and i forget which symphony was backing him, maybe the nj, but i was front row center, only about 4-5 feet away from him, and lemme tell ya it was like i saw god...i got the tickets at the very last minute cuz i think they were the governor's seats but he decided not to go cuz it was snowing and i was on a waiting list so i got the prize...whew...

    I saw a great lollapoolza in I think 92 somewhere in Rhode Island where it was an open field. Lots of great bands, open field, no seating, fun booths.

    Frank Black at Toads, New Haven CT. Such an intimate setting. He just rocks. I've probably seen him 3 or 4 times at Toads.

    Springsteen. You name the show, it's always good. But my favorite was probably at last year's ACT for Victory concert here in Philly. The energy was incredible. And he did a lot of collaborations with Michael Stype and Bright Eyes and John Fogarty.

    It's a toss up between Depeche Mode when I was 15 and INXS...yes..when Michael was still alive and rockin' (none of this want to be in the new INXS band tv crap). Both of these bands sure knew how to ROCK.

    Tracy Lawrance & Tracy Bird in 95 at Shoreline, in N. California. Bird came out in a Chicken costume while Lawrance was on stage...They were Awesome together not to mention CUTE!! And so much energy!

    A close 2nd would be Kiss & Aerosmith 2003 at Sleeptrain, Sacramento California! They were all over the stage, great pyro's for Kiss, and there is just something about Steven Tyler!

    I haven't been to that many concerts but I guess I'd have to say my favorite was JoDee Messina simply because I went with my sister and we had a blast!

    Melissa Ferrick, three years ago. She played in a little club downtown here in Palm Beach. It was freaking awesome. I was so close I could feel her sweat. :)

    I have two: In '87 or '88 I don't remember which, I saw Guns and Roses open up for the Rolling Stones in Los Angeles and it was great.

    Then last September I bought the girlfriend Sarah Machlaclan tickets and I went even though I really didn't want to and it was woderful.I became a fan that night.

    Cher, part of her never-ending farewell tour. Our city in TX, about 4 or 5 years ago, probably at least 5 now that I think of it. Sheer luck got us tickets front row center, no more than a yard from her. It was beyond amazing! I remember being struck by her eyes, and how they looked so different in person than on TV or in a picture.

    near Detroit, Michigan (the concert taped for HBO and the DVD).

    It was the first time that I had seen her in concert and we had 7 row seats. Rosie O'Donnell was in the 2nd row just in front of us. It was a night I will never forget. I ended up seeing that concert 3 times (twice more in Chicago), but that first night right in front of the stage was the best.

    It's a toss up between my first Ani DiFranco concert in Albuquerque and seeing Bette Midler in a small gay club here in Houston.

    For the Ani concert, I had volunteered online to hang posters and promote the show to get good tickets. We were in the first few rows (as I have been for every Ani concert since!) and she had a large band with her, including a horn trio. It totally rocked and she was totally cute. I was a big fan already, but seeing her live in that intimate setting was fantastic and made me an even bigger fan.

    Ditto on Bette Midler. I was one of the only women in the place (me and the gay men love Bette!) and paid mega bucks for a short show, but it was fabulous. To see the Divine Miss M in a small dance club and to be up close was uber fabulous. Plus, I had met and chatted with ehr in person just a year before, so that made it even better.

    I'd have to say INXS in 1988 at Texas Stadium...and Bob Dylan in I think 1996 or 97 with my Dad at the Bronco Bowl (which is gone now - shame because it was small and there were no bad seats). Probably the most fun I've had was seeing LA Guns last weekend at the Grenada here in Dallas - such a small venue and they were just unbelievably good (I really didn't expect them to be that good - hell, their music's not!) Oh, Ministry was good - another Bronco Bowl show ...in 1997, or 98. That one was FANTASTIC.

    Def Lepord on August the third 2005. It was at the T-bone stadium in Kansas . Me, my girl, my best friend and her boyfriend went and it rocked. Second time seeing them, Love em.

    Also, Melissa Ethridge at Verizon Wireless in Kansas. Great concert.

    hmmmm ... the best recent one was kd lang on her last tour ... just sublime ... before that it would have been U2 on their Love Comes to Town tour, with BB King as their warm-up act ... it was a religious experience

    Rachael Yamagata, opening for some guy I'd never heard of at a relatively small dive in the arts district in Downtown Dallas. She is amazing.
