mother's day in 2004. i was at a gas station and locked them, as well as my cat, inside. i called AAA, they quoted me 1.5 hours. so i spotted a police officer parked nearby, asked him for help, and he contacted the nearest tow truck. i paid the guy $30 bucks to get them out.
while i was waiting i tried to get my cat to crawl onto the lock, but she hid under the seat.

It's been about 4 years, took the kids to the dentist... had just dropped the broken cell phone off at the store, didn't have any numbers, late for the dentist appt for 3 kids, dentist wouldn't allow me to use their phone or phonebook... stranded in 115 degree weather, ended up walking about 1/2 mile just to use payphone and call 3A... 45 minutes later my truck was unlocked... I pay $80 a year for membership, so it doesn't cost me later :)

I honestly don't remember. However, if you had asked about the last time I locked myself out of the house... well, we don't need to go into that right now. ;)

It's been a very long time and I don't remember now. This doesn't really count but one time I was having lunch at my work with my coworker out in the grassy area, left my set of keys here... Some one from my same work found them and actually took my keys home rather than leaving it at the the front desk!?!
So I had to call a locksmith and charged me an arm and a leg to replicate a new key for me. Oy. That was a bummer of a day! haha!

Wow Tatted! Sounds like you've got a real friendly dentist...lol. I can't believe they wouldn't let you even use the phone.
Yes, Fletch, I have to admit that I locked my keys in the car on Saturday night. We went shopping and it was snowing when we left, so I volunteered to go get the car. I got in, started it to let it warm up, grabbed my snowbrush and when I got out to clean off the car - must have subconsciously locked the door upon exit. I didn't realize I had even done it...lol. You should have seen the look on my partner and son's face as I trudged back through the snowy parking lot towards them, carrying only the snowbrush :)
A quick visit from a Locksmith 20 minutes and $55 later saved the night!

I did this a couple of weeks ago when I stopped at the library. But I keep an extra car key loose in my purse, so I was able to get back in.
Then there was the time I did that with the motor running with a low tank of gas. Oops!

Last winter, I locked my keys in the car at Walmart. It was only the second time I had ever done that. After the first time, I got smart and made an extra key which fits into my wallet. So, I just got my spare out and got in.

I did it about 4 weeks ago. Stopped to get gas. My fav song was on the radio so I left the door open to listen to it. Walked by the door and shut it while cleaning the windows. Radio on, headlights on and locked out. Had to call hubby to come get me in and had a dead battery by the time he got there. What a morning that was.

I've locked myself out of the house several times, but never the car. I did have the ignition key snap off once in an old AMC as I put it in the column lock, and caught a ride home with a co-worker rather than wake my wife up at 3AM to come get me...

I put the dog into the passenger side of the car then threw my keys onto the driver's seat while I went around to the boot, to put in a few packages. By the time I got around to the drivers' side, the dog was standing on the automatic door lock (wagging daftly) and I had no spare key. I had to walk to the local Constabulary and ask a PC to break into my car for me. He ended up having to smash a window with his torch.
