As sad as it is to be borrowing money from your parents at age 31, that's just what I had to do today.
Once it gets down to choices like - do I try to keep the house, or the car...pride has to go out the window.

20 years ago, 2 weeks before closing on my first house...I lost my job.
The lesson I learned is that, if you're very careful, you can hide just about anything from the mortgage company and the IRS.
Oh, and also, Arizona has lots of places to hide the body...wait, that's a different story.
Nevermind.

I think 10 years ago. My parents don't have extra money and even if they did I am not sure they would lend it out. :)

I don't think I ever did, or it's so long ago I can't remember. I always worked, always had my own money.

Ouch. It was earlier this year when I lost a job and freaked out. I had gotten that job JUST before I would have had to ask my parents for money. And then I lost the job in 2 weeks...when I called my dad to tell him the news, he volunteered to send money because he knew I couldn't have had any! And he was right...

I don't know the last time but its coming up soon. My lease is up 1 July and there is no way I will have enough money by then to cover first and last.

Hmm... 'bout six years ago. My Wrangler was stolen and I needed another car. My dad helped me shopped for another car and since then I paid him every cent back. Thank goodness!
Doing okay these days... for now! :-) Happy Tuesday!

Four years ago, in order to finally leave my husband. She paid for my deposit and first month's rent on an apartment. I had to borrow money from them a lot while I was married and I vowed I would be self-sufficient from then on. It's a great source of pride that I voluntarily stopped the gravy train.
