How did you spend Independence Day?

    Ran errands, mowed the lawn, then B-BQ with my son, me ex and her friend. Drinks and then a few massive fireworks that woke up/pissed off my neighbor and set off a car alarm. Evening ended with me and the ex fighting. Then crying on the phone until almost midnight. Is independence always this complicated?

    Cleaned the house like a madwoman, put up a canopy/trellis thing in the backyard, then had the family over for BBQ, badminton and croquet. Then crashed on the couch reading and watching TV before falling to sleep exhausted while the neighborhood popped and boomed with fireworks.

    drove to the top of mt. diablo with my boyfriend and 2 visiting friends. climbed some rocks while in the state park. came home, relaxed and watched a movie. had friends over for turkey burgers and grilled veggies and wine. then watched the neighbors set off illegal fireworks in the middle of the street, drank more wine, and passed out.

    I was working (waitressing) although we were not busy at all, so I actaully spent the day messing around and doodling on stuff. I don't think it actually counts though, since i'm from England. But that's what I was doing anyhoo

    Went to the house
    of some friends
    where we indulged in
    barbequed ribs,
    barbequed chicken,
    homemade ice cream,
    and an appalling load of the most illegal fireworks known to mankind.

    Took the kids to a parade, hung out with family, got a sunburn, drank some Corona's, cooked burgers on the grill, and let off some fireworks here at home.

    Worked, slept a few hours, went to the roommates boyfriends for dinner, swam in a pool, went back to work exhausted. It was still a good day -Jn

    We saw Superman, ate Peruvian (what?), came home, and watched the illegal fireworks from 3 sides of my apartment...not a bad show for free entertainment.
