Bird - you can fly and you don't have to depend on humans. Unless you're the lazy type of bird that hangs out at parks and lets old men on park benches feed you...

I'm going to follow in the footsteps of others here and say - a cat. I know that there are other more exciting and interesting animals to be, but lying around the house all day eating and sleeping sounds supremely wonderful to me.
