Two Hundred and Sixty Seventh Question
Thanks to Brown Shoes for submitting today's Big Question...
Have you ever had a "lovey" ?
(ie: stuffed animal/blankie/security thing)
What is it, where did you get it, do you still have it?

I never had a blankie, but I had a rag doll named Keri that went EVERYWHERE with me. We had a few lovely summers in my grandparents' motor home that I'll never forget.
She is lovingly stored in a "mementos" box now.

Yep, I had a blankie! It was actually a smallish afghan, a kind of apricot/pink color. It had fringe and I used to smash the fringe up under my thumb nails until it hurt. That's a weird thing for a kid to do. I'm not sure where the blanket came from...Anyway, at some point it was split down the center, length-wise, and I still kept it. For some reason I'm thinking only one half of it exists, and if so, it's at my parents' house...

I take it "lovey" is different from a prized possession, so on that note...
I used to have this mouse puppet, and for some reason I couldn't go to sleep unless I had it laid flat on my pillow. My parents finally (secretly) wrested it from me by the time I was about 8. It was pretty worn, tattered and smelly in hindsight.

i had a lambie...it was a stuffed lamb, and we were inseperable...one day my mother finally got the thing away from me to throw it in the washer and it died in there...came out of the washer shredded in pieces...

I had a blankie - pink with silky, slippery edging.I have no idea where it came from - I can't recall any early childhood when it wasn't there.
As it got older, the edges came off, and it began to erode with each washing (or was that my mother, removing parts of it??).
By the time I was 7 or so, it was little more than an unsatisfactory scrap - and I buried it out in the horse pasture.

Nope. Butmy sister had one until she was 20-YEARS-OLD. No seriously, really. That put me off anything I could get attached to for the rest of my life.

i carried a stuffed lamb around for the longest time. my mom brought it back from a trip she went on. i named it flopsey because it was floppy. i also used to carry around a stuffed carrot, a blanket, and a small pillow. i was a packrat from day one.
